Main screen #

1. The side panel located on the left side of the screen is ReqBuilder’s control center, from which all sections of the specifications are accessible.
2. The upper part of the side panel allows navigation between the main components of the project: Information System, Versions, or Application when more than one of them exist.
3. Contextual navigation automatically updates according to the currently active element to provide quick access to relevant requirements.
4. The detailed information relative to the element selected in the side panel is presented in the central area of the screen.

Application selection #

The icon located on the right side of the ReqBuilder banner, at the top of the screen, allows you to display and select an Application from those registered in ReqBuilder for the organization(s) you are linked to.

This same icon allows you to list the organizations you are linked to and access the list of their Information Systems and their users.

Save changes #

When editing a requirement, you can Cancel or Save the changes using the links at the bottom of the screen

Add requirements #

The icon located on the right side of the ReqBuilder banner, at the top of the screen, displays a contextual menu through which requirements can be added.

For productive work, these additions are also possible using the keyboard shortcuts indicated below. For these shortcuts to work, the mouse pointer must be located outside of an input area.

At the Information System level, it is possible to add (with keyboard shortcut):

• Actor (shortcut letter « m » then « a »)
• Data model (« m » then « m »)
• Glossary term (« m » then « t »)

At the Application level:

• Application Component (« m » then « c »)
• Feature (« m » then « f »)
• Form (« m » then « f » then « o »)
• Functional requirement (« m » then « r »)
• Non-functional requirement (« m » then « n »)
• Page (« m » then « p »)
• Tables (« m » then « l »)
• Use case (« m » then « u »)

User profile #

The icon located on the right side of the ReqBuilder banner, at the top of the screen, displays the following information:

1. Your identity
2. The language in which you want to display the ReqBuilder interface: French or English.
3. The Discovery Mode, which allows you to obtain contextual help or information, such as the keyboard shortcuts available for adding requirements.
4. A logout link.

Keyboard shortcuts #

Keyboard shortcuts are available when the mouse pointer is outside an input area.

• Save: Ctrl + Shift + S
• Save and add again: Ctrl + Shift + A
• Save and see details: Ctrl + Shift + V

Add requirements can also be done via keyboard shortcuts as explained above.

Search #

The search function allows you to quickly access all the requirements related to a term or expression.

1. Enter the searched term or expression in the search field.
2. The list of results then appears below the search field.

Clicking on one of the search results with the mouse displays a preview of the corresponding content, above the currently open page: you can click on the cross to close this preview and return to the previously displayed page.It is also possible to navigate through the search results using the keyboard arrows: once the desired result is highlighted, pressing the Enter key on the keyboard opens the corresponding content.
